We recently returned from another trip to our favorite location - Disney World! MiMi, Grumps, MacKenzie and I headed down so that I could participate in the Disney Princess Glass Slipper Challenge (the Enchanted 10K and the Princess Half Marathon) on Saturday & Sunday. Grumps joined me for the Half Marathon.
Wednesday night, we headed to Birmingham for the night because our flight left bright and early (6:30) Thursday morning. We arrived in Orlando around 9 and were off to catch the Magical Express to our resort, Bay Lake Towers.
Our room wasn't ready, so we dropped off our carry-on bags and headed to lunch at the Grand Floridian. One of the nice things utilizing Disney's Magical Express service is that they pick up your checked luggage and deliver it directly to your room, so we didn't have to worry about those bags. We ate lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe, which was a new restaurant for us. It was good!
After lunch, Grumps and I headed to the ESPN complex to pick up our race packets (Bibs, Shirts, etc) and check out the Expo. While we did that, MiMi and MacKenzie went to the Magic Kingdom for Dole Whips and spent some time around the Contemporary waiting on our room to be ready.
Finally, our room was ready, so we headed up to check it out and put up our carry-on bags / race expo stuff. We also had our groceries and luggage delivered to the room while we were up there.
Then we headed off to the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the evening. We rode a few rides, including MacKenzie's two favorites - its a small world and the race cars. We also visited with Rapunzel and Cinderella.
