Trip to Tennessee

This past weekend, we headed up to Tennessee for my cousin Brian's wedding on Saturday.  It was a beautiful wedding at the Museum of Appalachia and MacKenzie had a blast with her cousins.
Sunday was "decoration" - it is a Southern tradition to go to the cemetery and put flowers on (or decorate) the graves.  A lot of Grandmother's family is in Sevierville, so a trip to the Smokey Mountains is usually combined with decoration.  I came home with Jeff, Meghan and Marcus on Sunday but MacKenzie and MiMi went to decoration and came home with Grumps on Monday.  MacKenzie is the 5th generation to participate in decoration.
After visiting the cemetery, they went on up into the mountains for a picnic and some fun.  MacKenzie had a great time playing with Benjamin and Nicholas.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a little different for us this year - this is the first year that I can remember that we did not go to Tennessee for Mother's Day.  MacKenzie's Dad brought her home around 10 Sunday morning and we spent the majority of the day being lazy and hanging out at home.
That evening, we had dinner with MiMi, Jeff, Meghan and Marcus at Connors.  Unfortunately, Grumps couldn't join us for dinner because he was sick.  MiMi & I got our Mother's Day presents at dinner...MacKenzie got me a Disney Pandora bead for my bracelet.
After dinner, MiMi, MacKenzie, Marcus & I went on a train ride around Bridge Street.
Then we got popsicles at Steel City Pops before calling it a night.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

My birthday was last week.  We celebrated by going out to dinner and enjoying a yummy strawberry cake that MacKenzie and MiMi made for me.  MacKenzie did a great job putting the candles on the cake.
She also sang "Happy Birthday" to me and helped me blow out the candles.
And of course, helped me open my presents...
It was a great birthday!!!

MacKenzie's School Program

A couple of weeks ago (UG!  I'm SO far behind on blogging) MacKenzie's school had their end-of-year performance.  The four classes in her age group (3 year olds) performed together.  They sang 3 songs and recited a Bible verse.  I got a few pictures and some video on my cell phone - its hard to take pictures and video at the same time!
