Early Easter Celebration

This past weekend, MacKenzie, MiMi and I went to Tennessee to visit family and to have an early Easter celebration.  Saturday morning, we went to have MacKenzie's picture made at Memories Portraits with their live bunnies.  Then we picked up Aunt Marion and some lunch before going back to GiGi and Granddaddy's house.  MacKenzie got to decorate our traditional Easter bunny cake - GiGi bakes a red velvet cake, MiMi cuts it out to look like a bunny and the kids get to decorate it.  This was MacKenzie's first year to decorate the bunny.

So proud of her cake!

Sunday, most of the family came to Grandmother & Granddaddy's house and Grandmother made a WONDERFUL meal of Chicken and Dumplings, Green Beans, Corn and other yummy stuff.  MacKenzie got to help GiGi make the Chicken and Dumplings...another tradition for the kids in our family.

Helping Grandmother make Chicken and Dumplings was always one of my favorite things to do in the kitchen with her and I can remember standing in a chair in the same spot as MacKenzie dropping dumplings in the same pot.
MacKenzie also got some fun Easter gifts from Becky & Mike and had a great time playing with everyone, especially Benjamin.

We enjoyed our weekend visiting with family and having an early Easter celebration.
