MacKenzie had her 9 month check up on Wednesday. Dr. Patz says she looks great & is doing great. She weighs 21 lbs and is 29 inches long. She is in the 80th percentile for weight and the 85th percentile for height. Luckily, she didn't have to get any shots this visit and only had to get her toe pricked for some blood. I can't believe her next appointment will be her 1 year check up!

May Update
I am SO far behind in blogging...May was a really busy month for us. So, I thought I'd just do one post on the whole month of May.
The first weekend in May, we celebrated my birthday. Laura and my Grandparents came down for the night and Mom cooked a nice dinner. All the pictures are on Mom's camera so all I have are a couple from my cell phone.
MacKenzie was getting too big for her infant carrier / car seat, so we moved her into her "big girl" car seat.
The next weekend, we went to Knoxville to celebrate Mother's Day.
Grumps hung up MacKenzie's swing that she got from Uncle Gary for Christmas. It is on the back porch at their house and she enjoys being outside and swinging.
Next, we celebrated MiMi's birthday, which again, I don't have any pictures of because the battery was dead on my camera and all the pictures are on Mom's camera.
Then, we had Memorial Day weekend. Parker's parents came down on Saturday to spend some time with him and MacKenzie. MacKenzie & I spend Monday at MiMi and Grumps's house and Alyssa came to visit and see MacKenzie. I don't have any pictures of them either (I've got to get better about taking pictures!).
At the end of the month, we had MacKenzie's 9 month pictures made and they are so cute. She also turned 9 months old!

9 Months Old!
I can not believe that MacKenzie is 9 months old! The past 9 months have completely flown by!
MacKenzie weighs about 20 lbs and I forgot to measure her this month. She is still wearing size 3 diapers and in clothes is wearing 9 month, 6 - 9 month and 6 - 12 month clothes. I love all her cute 9 and 12 month summer clothes. And she loves having her feet out where she can play with her toes.
She is now eating 3 meals a day, plus an afternoon snack. And she still takes at least 4 bottles a day, if not more. She still likes to eat and will eat almost anything we give her. I have also let her try some table foods - in the past month, she has tried waffles, pancakes, bread, biscuits and french fries, all of which she really liked. She has also tried some fresh fruit - the only the she doesn't seem to like is bananas (guess she takes after her Mom?) and some apple juice. Her favorite thing to eat is the fruit flavored cereal puffs. She will eat those as long as we give them to her.
She is full of personality and will definitely let you know when she likes (or doesn't like) something. She still LOVES the dogs and cat. She also loves being outside and taking a bath. Lately, MacKenzie has started crying when I get her out of the bath - she will stay in the tub and play as long as I will let her.
MacKenzie is getting very close to crawling, but hasn't gotten there yet. In the meantime, she has figured out that she can roll to get where she wants to go or if she is sitting up, she can scoot across the floor (as you can see in the photo montage above).
She still likes going to daycare and being with Ms. Pat and the other kids. She also likes her time with MiMi and Grumps. However, she is starting to experience some anxiety with strangers. It definitely takes her a while to warm up to new people.
MacKenzie continues to be a good sleeper at night - she will sleep 10 to 12 hours most nights without waking up. Most mornings, she wakes up in a good mood and is ok to lay in her bed and "talk" for a while before I go get her up. She still takes a couple of naps during the day. Usually, she will take a short morning nap around 9 and then a longer nap after lunch. Sometimes, she will take a short afternoon nap, too.

8 Months Old!
My sweet girl is 8 months old today! I can't believe it!
MacKenzie weighs about 20 lbs and is about 27 inches long. She is wearing size 3 diapers. In clothes she wears 6 month, 6 - 9 month and 6 -12 month, but some of the 6 month clothes are getting too small. Fortunately, it is getting warmer, so she can start wearing a lot of her cute 9 month summer clothes.
She eats 3 meals a day of "solid" foods and takes about 4 bottles a day. She still LOVES to eat and will eat any of the baby food we give her. She has also had a couple of bites of avocado, mashed potatoes and corn bread, but not much table food.
She is sitting up by herself, rolling over and wants to stand up as much as possible (with assistance). I had to lower her bed over the weekend because she is starting to try to pull herself up. She can get up to her knees but not quite to her feet yet. MacKenzie does not seem interested in crawling at all.
Towards the end of last week, she started cutting her first tooth. I can't see it yet (of course she does not want to let me look in her mouth) but I can definitely feel it. Fortunately, it has not seemed to cause her too much pain yet and I hope that trend continues.
She continues to be a very happy baby and does not cry very often. She is getting such a personality and I love all the faces she makes.
She has also started clapping and loves to play patty-cake.
MacKenzie is a great sleeper - she sleeps about 11 hours at night and usually takes a good nap during the day that is an hour & a half or longer. She also takes a couple of "cat" naps during the day.
She is starting to babble a whole lot...she says a lot of "Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma" but I'm not sure she really associates that with me yet. She LOVES her days with MiMi and likes to play with Grumps in the morning. She also loves Ms. Pat and likes going to daycare 3 days a week.
