She weighs about 23 1/2 lbs and is about 31 1/2 inches long. Not much change from her 1 year check-up earlier in the month. But, I think she's hitting a growth spurt because she has been eating a lot and sleeping a lot.
She is becoming more vocal and saying more. Her favorite word right now is "up"...she says it when she wants to be picked up, wants up on a toy, wants out of her highchair or car seat, etc. The other day in the car, she said "Mama...Up!" MacKenzie also says "moo", "cat", "dog", "duck", and is starting to learn to say Grumps...she's got the Grrr part down.
She can now climb all the way up the stairs by herself, but hasn't figured out how to go down yet. If she is holding on to something, she can push it to walk. I think it is only a matter of days before she starts walking...she will move one foot, like she wants to walk but then will lose her balance or grab on to something or sit down.
MacKenzie still likes to eat and has gone to completely eating table food. No more baby food or formula! She loves green beans, peas, blueberries, waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs...and basically anything she can feed herself. The only thing she doesn't seem to mind having someone else feed her is yogurt.
She is slowly cutting back on taking a bottle & only drinking from a cup. For the most part, she only takes a bottle (with milk in it) at bedtime. She likes to drink from a sippy cup the rest of the time.
