MacKenzie's First Dance Recital

We spent last week at the beach (more on that later), so I'm a little behind on posting about MacKenzie's first dance recital.
On Friday, June 5th, my "baby ballerina" had her first recital.  Soles (her dance studio) did a great job of arranging it so that the little girls had their own show.  They did not have a dress rehearsal and got to perform twice on the stage at 6:00 pm...then their show was over and we got to go home.

Before the performance, MacKenzie had a great time playing with her dance friends in the dressing room.

When it was time to go backstage, their teacher Ms. Ashley came to get the class.  They looked so cute all lined up in their costumes heading backstage.

Then it was time for the big performance!  MacKenzie did great!  She did some of her dance and seemed to really have a good time being on stage.

After the performance, we took a few pictures before heading back to MiMi & Grumps's for dinner and a few recital presents for MacKenzie.

Last Dance Class

Last night was MacKenzie's last dance class for the year.  It took her a little while to warm up to going to dance class in the fall, but once she did, she loved it.  She's already saying that she wants to take dance again next year...and is excited because she will get to take tap (Mommy & Sissy's favorite!).  We are looking forward to her first dance recital tonight!

Swing-Set Fun

Part of MacKenzie's Christmas gift from Mommy, MiMi & Grumps was a swing-set.  We decided to wait until the spring to get once, since she wouldn't be able to play with it in the winter.  Grumps did a great job putting it together and MacKenzie is having a blast playing on her "playground" as she calls it.

At  first, she was a little unsure about going up in the "fort" part and wanted someone up there with her.  But, as she spent more time up there, she got more comfortable.

The swing-set also has a sandbox.  MacKenzie waited patiently for Grumps to fill it so she could play in it.

Even Smokey got it on a little swinging fun! 

We're looking forward to lots of fun on the swing-set in the future! 

MiMi's Birthday

MiMi's birthday was May 20th, but we couldn't go out as a family until that weekend.  We enjoyed a nice dinner at Asian Rim and got some cute pictures of MiMi with both her grandchildren...it's not easy to get a 2 year old and a 6 month old to look at the camera at the same time...
